CLINICS

In listening to the needs of youth organizations we can provide the SUPPORT, STRUCTURE, CONSISTENCY and CONFIDENCE to take your program to the next level.  Our process involves a needs analysis with your organization to come up with the best course of action to reach your goals.  We then suggest organizational solutions and finally implement them though either seasonal clinic programs, GPS trainers, PDO’s or even your own full time DOC.

All GPS sessions are delivered from the GPS curriculum which is consistently updated from season to season by the GPS Technical Department.

For more information on the services GPS can provide your organization, please contact our Academy Director Chris Coleman on 207 887 9176 or email ccoleman@globalpremiersoccer.com

Program Evaluation and Analysis

GPS Academy Staff will meet with your organization and conduct a needs analysis to determine the aims and objectives for your program as well as your successes and challenges from previous seasons.  Too often when an outside vendor comes into work with an organization they look at what needs to be changed rather than how to develop those areas that are already going well.  We want to build upon your current platform and ensure your growth.

Organization Solutions

Once we have determined the issues you face we will create a development plan that involves input from our full time technical department and utilize the resources at our head office where we have over 60 year round full time staff.  These solutions might be providing support from a distance such as our MPS Connections web based program, individual clinics for players and teams, specialized clinics for goalkeepers, player evaluation and assessment or even coach certification programs.  Often these solutions are used to complement the programs you presently provide or support other outside vendors.

Seasonal Clinic Program for U6, U8 and U10

The foundation of your program is at the U6 and U8 level and as the first soccer experience for most players, coaches and parents it requires the most attention and resources.  With the large disparity in coaching ability amongst your volunteers at this level it is essential to provide a positive first experience.  GPS will provide a complete, age appropriate player and coach development plan that ‘benchmarks’ individual progress and communicates this effectively to parents and coaches so they remain engaged.  GPS ME will provide curriculum and lesson plans, online resources and materials, real time feedback and support with professional on field instruction to both players and coaches.  Our aim is not to replace your volunteer coaches but rather educate and provide feedback and support.  GPS is the only coaching organization with the resources available or required to provide this total solution program.

GPS Trainer

As players begin to play travel and select soccer the challenge to provide volunteer coaches to take the players to this next level becomes increasingly difficult.  Now the coach needs a working knowledge of coaching within the game, understanding tactics and formation, match analysis and player evaluation as well as creating a season long development plan based on the players at their disposal.  GPS can provide a trainer to work with your team throughout the full season and because the majority of our staff are full time make plans for the following year to provide continuity and consistency.

Program Development Officer

Our PDO program has been developed after feedback from several youth organizations we work with who are looking for a more full time presence from GPS throughout the whole season.  Typically the Program Development Officer is an GPS staff coach with over 3 years of experience within a youth soccer organization and is assigned exclusively to your program for an unlimited number of hours during the week.  The PDO performs a number of important roles within your organization including to work extensively with your volunteer coaches and educate them in how to work with their players.

Director of Coaching

More and more youth soccer organizations are considering the appointment of a DOC but choosing the right fit is not simply hiring an effective coach but rather an educator, administrator and mentor to the various constituent groups in your organization.  This is a major commitment by your organization and the recruitment process needs to be extremely selective.  At GPS we have created a DOC program where we have selected top tier candidates from our coaching staff that has the necessary skill set to deliver both on and off the field.  They must have a minimum coaching qualification as well as proven experience in working with the players, coaches, parents and administrators of youth soccer organizations.
